Mowavia Williams
Membership Director
Mowavia Williams is an accomplished professional with a passion for advancing women's roles in the energy sector. Recently appointed as the Membership Director for Women in Energy Guyana, Mowavia brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the organization.
Currently, Mowavia is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computing, and Management at the University of Guyana. Additionally, she is attending the Toronto Metropolitan University, pursuing the Full Stack Developer Certificate. Alongside her academic pursuits, Mowavia has been serving as a typist clerk in the Administrative and Support Service Department of the Guyana Elections Commission since 2016. This role has honed Mowavia's administrative skills and provided valuable experience in a dynamic and critical sector.
Mowavia's appointment to the board marks a significant milestone, following a successful nomination and election at the recent AGM. She looks forward to contributing to the organization's mission by enhancing membership engagement and supporting the professional growth of women in energy.
Outside of her professional and academic endeavors, Mowavia is passionate about her son's educational development and the uplifting of people around her.
Mowavia is excited to collaborate with the esteemed board members, including Chairwoman Abbigale Loncke-Watson, Treasurer Alista Bishop, Vice Chairwoman Filisha Duke, Secretary Shanae Heber, and Fundraising & Events Director Camille Deokie Gorakh, to drive impactful change and support the vision of Women in Energy Guyana. She is eager to work with the entire Board of Directors and members to make a difference.
